Data Literacy

Knowledge translation is essential for creating a long term impact on the capacity of people working in the agriculture and food sector to participate in the data-driven economy.

Fundamentals of Farm Data Literacy Program

The Fundamentals of Farm Data is a data literacy training program designed to equip farmers with foundational knowledge and data governance skills related to agriculture data.

This program touches on important topics including the sources of farm data, data quality, privacy, cybersecurity, and many others.  It also contains a number of activities and worksheets that help to make the content more practical and useful.

Ultimately the program aims to put growers in positions to ask the right questions as they make investments in digital agriculture technology on their farm.

There are currently four modules available:

  • πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»οΈ Module 1: Data 101

  • 🚜 Module 2: Data in Agriculture

  • πŸ’» Module 3: Working with Your Data

  • πŸ” Module 6: Cybersecurity

Accessing the program does not require sign-up and is free of cost.

We would like to bring this program to you!

Live delivery of training - both in-person and via webinar - is incredibly valuable. Not only does it allow for customized content, it also allows participants to ask real-time questions and engage with their peers.

Whether you’re an agriculture association, post-secondary institution, or another organization working in the agriculture sector, please reach out to data-literacy@emilicanada.com if you are interested in bringing this content to your organization. We are interested in working with you to develop an in-person event or online webinar.
